About us
Science & Encyclopaedia Publishing Institute is a public science publishing company in Lithuania. The Institute promoter is the Republic of Lithuania Ministry of Education and Science.
The Science and Encyclopaedia Publishing Institute was established in 1997 on the basis of Science and Encyclopaedia Publishers, founded in 1992, by merging Vilnius-based Mokslas Publishers and the State Encyclopaedia Publishers.
The Institute publishes the Universal Lithuanian Encyclopaedia, specialized encyclopedias, linguistic and terms dictionaries, reference books, monographs of social, natural and technical science, scientific works by foreign authors, other popular science books.
The main and major task of the Institute is to prepare and publish a 20-volume Universal Lithuanian Encyclopaedia. It presents the essential knowledge on the wold, Lithuania and Lithuanians. Around 20 percent of the publication are devoted to the Lithuanian studies.
